헨델의 사라방드는 그의 ‘하프시코드를 위한 모음곡 제4번 D단조, HWV 437’ 중
세 번째 곡으로, 바로크 음악의 정수라 할 수 있는 곡입니다.

사라방드는 원래 스페인에서 유래된 느리고 장중한 3박자의 춤곡입니다.
귀족적인 우아함과 깊은 감정을 표현하는 형식인데요.
특히 단조인 사라방드에는 슬픔, 위엄, 고통과 숭고함 등이 느껴집니다.

어린시절 명곡집에서부터 만날 수 있는 이 곡을 현대적으로 풀어보았습니다.
인간의 깊은 고뇌와 무거운 감정들을 현대적인 기법을 통해 더 드러내보고자 했습니다.

사라방드는 변주형식으로 구성되어 있는데요.
마찬가지로 현대적인 사라방드에서도 변주형태를 유지하고,
기본적인 원곡의 틀을 해치치 않는 선에서 현대적인 리듬과 화성을 더하여 보았습니다.

무겁고 엄숙하지만, 듣고 있으면 경건함이 느껴져 꼭 어둡게 느껴지지만은 않는,
현대적인 느낌의 사라방드. 많은 감상 부탁드립니다.


Handel's Sarabande is the third piece of his 'Suite for Harpsichord No. 4 in D minor, HWV 437', and is the essence of Baroque music.

Sarabande is a slow and solemn dance in triple time that originally originated in Spain.
It is a form that expresses aristocratic elegance and deep emotions.
In particular, the minor Sarabande conveys sadness, majesty, pain, and sublimity.

I have interpreted this piece, which can be found in childhood song collections, in a modern way.
I wanted to further reveal the deep anguish and heavy emotions of humans through modern techniques.

Sarabande is composed in a variation form.
Similarly, in the modern Sarabande, I maintained the variation form,
and added modern rhythm and harmony without damaging the basic framework of the original song.

It is heavy and solemn, but when you listen to it, you feel piety, so it doesn't necessarily feel dark,
It is a modern Sarabande. I hope you enjoy it.
