“Clair-Obscur Sheet Music”

A twelve-note scale and a metered sheet music isn't capable to express the sound of “NAME” with its layered vocal and digitally generated inflections.

The track is transcribed in the original key, B Minor, and uses basic major and minor chords Bm F♯m Gmaj7 Em and non-harmonic F♯7. The progression is cadential.

Its cyclical chord change (loop) highlights melodic development.

F♯7 was added over F♯m to create a unique sound in the chorus.

“Clair-Obscur” is composed with straight rhythm in common time. Accent strong beats.

I doubled note values to make sightreading easier for beginners.

Avoid learning both hands together in the very beginning; you will fail immediately and abandon the score.

The accompaniment is played softly, with slight staccato.

Alice Duport-Percier's predominant articulation is tenuto but you can vary touch in the chorus.

There are two voices sing together in the "sans elle" line, I notated the line differently in the first and second choruses. I like it this way, but you can choose only one melody and play it all the time.

The guitar solo is included.

Much of the song’s aesthetic value is generated through stepwise motion that reminds of human speech.
