“Zombie” Sheet Music

I used the pitch detecting software Melodyne to make sure all hidden notes are included in the score making it as accurate score as possible.

The track is transcribed in the original key, C Minor, and uses extended, altered and non-harmonic chords to create a unique sound. The harmonization uses the base of The Cranberries' harmonization but added a lot more twists making it more interesting to listen to and to play on piano.

The progression is cadential.

“Zombie” is composed with a straight rhythm in the common time. Accent strong beats.

Use a lot of dynamics that suits your skill level and the acoustic possibilities of your instrument. Vary touch from ppp (pianississimo) to fff (fortississimo).

Avoid learning both hands together in the very beginning; you will fail immediately and abandon the score.

The left-hand provides an accompaniment but in the second part of the piece plays the lead voice while the right hand plays an accompanying pattern (measures 17 — 20).

Notice that in the measures 9 — 13 the upper notes in the lower stave is played in the right hand (symbol r.h.).

The right hand part is complicated for beginners. If your hand can't reach octaves, drop the lower notes.

Focus on being expressive and intense but don't mindlessly bang on keys. The less is more.

The second voice can be omitted by beginners.

The notes in brackets should be barely heard.
